The People Behind Your Recovery
We're physical therapists who genuinely love what we do — and it shows.
We Started BSP Because You Deserved Better
Physical therapy, done right, is one of the most powerful tools in healthcare.
Boulder Sports Physiotherapy was built as a direct response to that. Extended, unhurried time with your physical therapist. Real hands-on manual therapy — not just a printout of exercises. And a commitment to treating you like an intelligent adult who can be educated, involved, and empowered in your own recovery.
We work with runners, cyclists, climbers, hikers, dancers, and anyone who moves through life actively — because we're part of that community too.

Dr. Lindsey Mayer
Trained to the Highest Standard. Here to Actually Help You.
Dr. Lindsey Mayer earned her BS in Athletic Training and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marquette University. She holds two of the most respected advanced certifications in the field — the OCS (Orthopedic Clinical Specialist), earned by fewer than 10% of PTs, and the COMT (Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist).
Before Boulder, Lindsey worked at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin and Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance — treating collegiate athletes, military personnel, and active adults across the spectrum. She brings joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and a neuroscience-based dry needling approach to every case.
"She doesn't default to a set protocol. She builds your plan around you."
Outside the clinic, you'll find Lindsey on the trails with her dog Ace, running, or somewhere new on her next adventure.

OUR COMMUNITY
Part of Boulder's Active Community
Boulder Sports Physiotherapy is located inside PR Labs — one of Boulder's premier multidisciplinary performance and wellness facilities. Being embedded in that community means direct access to trusted referral partners including massage therapists, chiropractors, and personal trainers, all under one roof.
We believe the best outcomes happen when disciplines work together — and we make those handoffs seamless.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Nope! Colorado is an open access state for physical therapy. You do not need a referral to receive Physical Therapy services unless you have Medicare/Medicaid insurance.
-
Boulder Sports Physiotherapy is considered a cash-based clinic, which means we do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide you with a detailed invoice (a.k.a superbill) that you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits. We do accept HSA/FSA as a form of payment for services as well!
Choosing to be a cash-based clinic allows our practitioners to treat each patient as an individual with the highest quality of care every time. We are not limited by which services we can provide, how many sessions you need, nor what injury we focus on during each session. The physical therapist and the patient have more control over their healthcare when seeking treatment from a cash-based physical therapy clinic, which leads to faster and better outcomes for everyone. -
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and are open to other forms of payment (i.e. cash, check, etc.). Being a cash-based clinic allows us to avoid sending any surprise bills later, and you have complete transparency about your care and cost at each visit.
-
Your initial evaluation includes a comprehensive evaluation of your movement, strength, mobility, and medical history. Your physical therapist will also make time for hands-on treatment (i.e. dry needling, tissue work, etc.) and developing a personalized exercise plan tailored to YOU and your goals. Boulder Sports Physiotherapy prioritizes one-on-one care to ensure you receive our full attention and the best results in as few of sessions as possible.
-
You really cannot find a better team of physical therapists who provide 100% one-on-one care with each patient during the 1-hour treatment time. Our therapists are also available for questions and check ins via email outside of the clinic, helping our patients feel supported 24/7 for a lifetime. We value constant collaboration and effective communication with our patients and their other providers, so they feel confident they are taken care of by a team.
-
Yes we do! However, due to physical therapy licensing regulations, we are only able to provide Telehealth services for patients who reside in the state of Colorado.
New injury or a long-standing issue — we can help.
Whether it's something that just happened, a nagging problem you've been putting off, or simply wanting to move better — there's no wrong reason to reach out.
